Spatial Whole Transcriptome Profiling and High-plex Single-cell Imaging Using NanoString
Technical Specialist
NanoString Technologie
1pm – 2pm EDT
Host: Dr. Darren Yuen
Lecture Takeaways
- How to use the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler (DSP) to examine the “molecular machines” and generate high plex whole transcriptome (18-21K RNAs) and proteomic (>96 proteins) across the tissue for true discovery.
- How spatial biology can be used to understand contextual relationships spanning diverse disease areas.
- Applications of the CosMx Spatial Molecular Imager (SMI) to interrogate the “private lives” at the single and subcellular level in space.
- How to integrate multi-modal datasets and unlock new layers of unseen biology from preclinical animal models to clinical tissues.
Biography
Sean Gerrin, AL.M. is the Technical Specialist for NanoString’s Spatial Biology business arm. Sean joined NanoString in 2021 and is passionate about helping researchers understand how spatial analysis can be leveraged to detect new biomarkers and understand disease progression across many research applications. Prior to joining NanoString, Sean held roles in technical product management focused on Next Generation Sequencing and molecular pathology applications. Additionally, Sean conducted prostate cancer research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC)/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed a master’s degree at Harvard Extension School with his thesis focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms driving solid tumour progression from pre-malignant to adenocarcinoma. He holds an undergraduate degree in health sciences with a minor in chemistry.
