Label-Free Optical Microscopy
Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and Scientist at Sunnybrook Research Institute
Time: 1–2 p.m. EDT
Host: Dr. Eno Hysi
Location: In-person and virtual
LKS Auditorium – 209 Victoria Street, and via Zoom
Lecture Takeaways
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy provides complementary information beyond fluorescence imaging. It has demonstrated excellent performance in both single-cell and tissue-level imaging across diverse applications. The integration of machine learning further advances the capabilities of SRS-imaging-based phenotyping.
Biography
Dr. Chenxi Qian received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Toronto and carried out postdoctoral research with an NSERC Fellowship at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He is an OICR (Ontario Institute of Cancer Research) Early Career Investigator, Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute, and Assistant Professor of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. His current research focuses on machine learning aided label-free imaging approaches for fundamental and clinical studies.
