BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Elodie Lugezi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).

Before joining TMU in 2021, she worked at Elekta Ltd. as an applied researcher and received her PhD from Queen\’s University.

Dr. Lugez’s research at TMU primarily focuses on the robust and accurate tracking of regions of interest in external beam radiation therapy and in high-dose-rate brachytherapy.

Dr. Lugez has had the chance to collaborate with multi-disciplinary research laboratories and centers including “The laboratory for Percutaneous Surgery,” the “Unconventional Computing Laboratory” and the “Human Mobility Research Center.”

Throughout her career, Dr. Lugez’s primary research and interests have been related to motion tracking for radiation therapy and image-guided interventions. Dr. Lugez strives to share her passion for science.
